Ghanaian defender Daniel Theophilus Asiedu has signed a contract with Swiss club FC Basel, extending until the summer of 2026 with an option for three additional years.
The 20-year-old, a product of the Berekum Chelsea FC youth academy, will initially join the club’s U21 team to complete his rehabilitation following recent surgery for a previously undiagnosed knee injury.
Asiedu, a promising young talent, has represented Ghana at the U17 and U20 levels. He joins a growing list of Ghanaian players who have successfully transitioned to European football, following in the footsteps of Jonas Adjetey and Emanuel Essiam, both of whom also graduated from the Berekum Chelsea academy and subsequently joined FC Basel.
This move represents a significant step forward in Asiedu’s career. With his talent and dedication, he has the potential to become a key player for FC Basel and continue his ascent in the world of professional football.
