Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and China Southern Airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance air connectivity between China and Africa, addressing the growing demand for mobility between the two regions.
According to a joint statement, the agreement will strengthen interline cooperation and establish a codeshare partnership, enabling smoother connections between China Southern Airlines’ extensive Asian network and RAM’s African routes.
This collaboration is expected to broaden travel options for both tourists and business travelers, facilitate commercial exchanges between Africa and China, and improve passenger and cargo transport services.
Additionally, both airlines will explore new areas of cooperation, including freight transport and service enhancements to improve passenger experience.
This initiative aligns with China’s Belt and Road project, which aims to expand trade and infrastructure networks between Asia and Africa.
Royal Air Maroc resumed its direct Casablanca-Beijing route on January 20, 2025, offering three weekly flights.
By strengthening air links, this partnership is set to boost tourism and trade, reinforcing China’s growing economic footprint in Africa.
