In a decree signed on Tuesday 5 March, General Mamadi Doumbouya, President of Guinea’s transitional government, revealed the configuration of the government headed by Amadou Oury Bah.
There are no major changes from the previous one led by Bernard Goumou.
Oury Bah’s team will comprise a total of 27 ministerial portfolios, with two secretaries-general holding the rank of minister. These ministries cover a wide range, from Justice and Human Rights to National Defence, Foreign Affairs, the Economy, Education, Health, Youth and Sports…
In addition, two general secretariats have been set up within the government: the General Secretariat of the Government and the General Secretariat for Religious Affairs.
The heads of these departments have yet to be appointed.
The dissolution of the previous government, led by Bernard Goumou, followed an internal crisis between the Prime Minister and his Minister of Justice, Alphonse Charles Wright. The disagreements between the two government officials erupted when the Minister of Justice called for the prosecution of certain public officials.
