APA – Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) – In an address to the nation on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of Burkina Faso’s independence, the head of the military junta lashed out at what he called collaborators of Western imperialism.
Captain Ibrahim Traoré described terrorism as the “most violent manifestation of imperialism.”
“In addition to plundering our states and robbing us through the local hacks they have put at the head of our states, which they consider their sub-prefectures, the imperialists have sent, a horde of criminals who are killing men, women and children,” Captain Traoré said.
“We believe that this is the height of imperialism and neo-colonialism. The brave people of Burkina Faso will accompany them in their downfall,” he vowed.
The junta head added that “the local henchmen of imperialism, both inside and outside the country, are in the same boat and we will no longer roll out the red carpet for these local values because there is a time for everything”.
He urged them to change their attitude so that “we can see eye to eye and act to help Burkina Faso regain its peace.”
