The MPs of the Democratic Party of Cote d’Ivoire (PDCI), Vox populi and Rassemblement parliamentary groups, and the President of the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI), Pascal Affi N’guessan, did not take part in the election which is “illegal and illegitimate to put an illegal president at the head of the National Assembly in violation of the institution’s rules,” they lamented.
Until Monday, March 4, the new President of the National Assembly was Minister to the President of the Republic in charge of Political Affairs, a position that Alassane Ouattara cut short, on Monday, by decree, after only ten months.
