His investiture occurred on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the KBF compound in Marcory, Abidjan, and drew a large turnout of militants, supporters, and leaders from Alassane Ouattara’s party.
During his inauguration, Tchagba, who also serves as the Minister of Water and Forests, pledged to “unite all party militants and supporters in Marcory around a common goal: ensuring the victory of the RHDP in the presidential, legislative, regional, and senatorial elections.”
He expressed his commitment to working toward the re-election of the President of the Republic, citing his remarkable achievements. Tchagba emphasized the importance of securing unanimous support for the presidential majority candidate so that the country can continue to thrive.
He and his team are dedicated to ensuring that President Alassane Ouattara is elected “in the first round of the 2025 presidential elections,” while also vowing to “enhance the RHDP’s results in Marcory.”
“We will cast a wide net to gather as many potential voters as possible to secure victory for the party, as we believe that the next presidential election should affirm previous successes,” he stated.
Acknowledging the importance of updating the electoral roll, Tchagba promised to facilitate the registration of all eligible citizens in Marcory, ensuring they can exercise their voting rights. His team will focus on mobilizing supporters to actively participate in this process as the presidential elections approach.
Minister Laurent Tchagba, who previously ran unsuccessfully against the deputy mayor of Marcory, Raoul Aby, in the last municipal elections, assured activists of his commitment to remain close to them through various social, solidarity, and charity initiatives.
Minister Belmonde Godo, representing RHDP President Gilbert Koné Kafana, reminded Tchagba that he was chosen by President Ouattara for his potential as a “unifier.” She emphasized that his primary mission is to unite all activists in his commune, entrusting him with the important task of converting Marcory, which is currently held by the opposition, to RHDP support.
Godo called for unity, cohesion, and solidarity to ensure effective grassroots work while urging everyone to set aside personal interests to achieve positive results in the upcoming 2025 elections.
“It is together, hand in hand, traversing every street in Marcory, engaging with our supporters, and reaching out to those not aligned with RHDP, that we will secure victory in Marcory,” she concluded.
