Essoh, who previously held the position of Central Development Director, assumed his new role on July 24, 2024.
He succeeds Quentin Gérard, who has taken on other responsibilities within AGL. SITARAIL, part of the Italian-Swiss group MSC, operates the Abidjan-Ouagadougou-Kaya railway line.
A seasoned public works engineer with extensive experience in the rail industry, Essoh joined SITARAIL in 2000 and has held various leadership positions within the company. He brings a deep understanding of the rail business in Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso to his new role.
Expressing gratitude for his appointment, Essoh acknowledged the challenges and expectations of stakeholders, including government partners, staff, customers, and the populations of both countries. He pledged to collaborate closely with all parties to ensure the continued success of SITARAIL.
Asta-Rosa Cisse, Regional Director of AGL Côte d’Ivoire – Burkina Faso, congratulated Essoh on his appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to lead SITARAIL to new heights. Cisse also commended outgoing Managing Director Quentin Gérard for his contributions to the company, particularly in restoring the one million-tonne goods transport record in 2019.
