APA-Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) A number of people had appealed to the administrative court against the requisitions.
On Wednesday, the administrative court ruled that the requisitions issued by three civil society members were illegal.
Consequently, it asked the army to put an end to the deployment to the front of journalist Issiaka Lingani and ‘Balai Citoyen’ members Rasmane Zinaba and Bassirou Badjo.
“We’re very satisfied, because our fight was to show that these requisition orders were veiled attacks on their freedom of opinion, their freedom of expression and their right not to be subjected to moral torture,” said Mr. Herve Kam, one of the requisitioned men’s lawyers.
At the beginning of November, several people had been requisitioned to travel to the front line of the fight against jihadist groups.
Several human rights and trade union organisations protested against the “abuses of power” and demanded their release.
They then took the Burkinabe government to court to have the measure lifted.
