Nairobi expelled Somalia’s ambassador to the country last month after Kenya accused its neighbor of encroaching on its maritime territory and claiming it to be Somali property.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed successfully mediated between the leaders of the two countries who met in Nairobi on Thursday.
Currently, the maritime dispute is before the International Court of Justice.
Nairobi has demanded that Mogadishu withdraws the use of illegal maps depicting Kenya’s territory as constituting part of Somaiia’s maritime territory and demanded a formal apology from her neighbor for violating its territory.
Somalia has denied allegations of attempting to auction ofshore oil in an area Kenya claims as its own.
