Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday defeated Karela FC 4-1 on penalties to clinch the GFA Normalisation Committee trophy at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
With this victory, the club will represent the country in the CAF Champions League for the next season.
The home side, Kotoko came in from a goal down in the second half to end the match 1-1 at full-time.
However, Kotoko, which also beat Hearts on penalties in Accra last weekend in the semi-finals, showed their penalty kicking prowess, and dismissed the in-form Karela, which played a very wonderful game to the amazement of the soccer fans.
The fans and players alike went into wild jubilation after the victory, with many of them praising the team for rising above its initial challenge to win the trophy.
