A trafficker, intercepted in the city of Sebha with 150,000 psychotropic tablets, was detained on the orders of the Libyan General Prosecutor’s Office.
The Libyan General Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the pretrial detention of an individual accused of trafficking in psychoactive substances, following investigations conducted by the regional bureau of the Office for the Fight against Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in the south of the country.
The investigation uncovered a criminal operation aimed at smuggling a large quantity of contraband substances through the city of Sebha. The probes led to the interception of a member of the syndicate in possession of 150,000 psychotropic tablets, including tramadol.
After intervening in the case, the head of the Sebha prosecutor’s office ordered the suspect’s detention pending prosecution, and issued warrants to find other members of the syndicate.
