After months of negotiations, the Malian government successfully acquired a 56% stake in Sotelma-SA, without incurring any additional costs. This significant achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the government and the Moroccan partner.
The new shareholders’ agreement aims to address past challenges and pave the way for a more prosperous future for Sotelma-SA. The government plans to invest in infrastructure, improve working conditions, and enhance employee training.
Minister Alhamdou Ag Iliyène expressed gratitude to the Moroccan partners for their cooperation and commended President Goïta for his leadership in driving this successful negotiation. The renewal of Sotelma-SA’s operating license marks a new era for Mali’s telecommunications sector.
