The Meinhardt Group has formalized its establishment in Morocco, marking a key milestone in its expansion strategy in Africa and its commitment to sustainable development in the Kingdom and on the continent.
A global leader in the fields of engineering, urban planning and strategic consulting, Meinhardt is present in over 60 countries.
The group mobilizes an international team of more than 6,000 specialists to design innovative solutions adapted to the specific needs of each region.
The Group’s CEO, Omar Shahzad, told a news conference on Monday in Rabat that the establishment in Morocco reflects a strategic vision aimed at taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the Kingdom while exploring African markets.
He described Morocco as “an essential strategic hub for the entire continent”.
Meinhardt plans to collaborate with the Moroccan public and private sectors to develop infrastructure projects that stimulate the economy and promote accelerated growth, while placing particular emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency.
In his remarks, Ehab Ibrahim, Managing Director of the MENA region of the group, stated that Meinhardt aims to create in Morocco a true regional center for West Africa, focusing on transfer of technology and expertise in areas such as smart cities and engineering consulting.
He noted that Morocco, a strategic gateway to Africa, has been chosen to play a key role in the expansion of the group.
According to him, integrating the “Morocco 2030” vision, Meinhardt aims to develop projects aligned with international standards while taking into account local specificities, particularly in the areas of modern and sustainable infrastructure, eco-responsible urban planning, sustainable mobility and smart cities.
