The Nobel Women’s Initiative 2019 Conference opens in the Liberian capital Monrovia on Tuesday, seeking to end gender violence globally and create space for universal security in building human rights, justice and equality for people.
Liberian Nobel Laureate, Madam Leymah Gbowee who along with former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011, told reporters Monday that President George Weah is expected to grace the Nobel Women’s Initiative 2019 conference which ends on Friday.
Four former female Nobel Peace Laureates are already in the country for the conference, while Rigoberto Manchu is due in before the opening of the conference on Tuesday.
Madam Gbowee who is part of the Nobel Women’s Initiative told reporters Monday that they assemble every two years across the globe to celebrate young people.
