The Moroccan-Austrian conference, which brought together more than 80 leaders from the political, economic and academic circles of Vienna, addressed key issues such as energy, mobility, sustainable development and cultural exchanges.
A conference on the development of a multidimensional partnership between Morocco and Austria was held in Vienna on Wednesday.
Organised by the Moroccan Millennium Leaders (MML) and Young Professional Network associations, the meeting brought together elected representatives, economic operators, academics and associations, marking a new stage in bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The president of the Dakhla Municipal Council, Erragheb Hormatallah, highlighted the economic assets of the southern provinces, particularly those of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region. He highlighted Morocco’s economic transformation over the past 25 years and recalled the opportunities offered by the new investment charter, which creates a framework conducive to business.
Mr. Hormatallah also spoke of Dakhla’s flagship sectors, such as tourism, renewable energy and aquaculture, which reinforce its strategic role in the region. Thanks to its air links with Europe, the city is establishing itself as a welcome platform for international investors.
For his part, Nico Marchetti, member of the Austrian National Council, welcomed the growth of Moroccan-Austrian relations. He stressed the importance of diversifying the areas of cooperation by strengthening the cultural and economic dimensions. Mr. Marchetti also highlighted Morocco’s expertise in the field of renewable energies, which is considered a model to follow.
For Thomas Mark, President of MK Illumination, the conference is a unique opportunity to intensify exchanges on innovation and creativity. He expressed his conviction that the collaborations initiated will have a lasting impact on both countries.
Strategic and symbolic collaboration
Jalila Morsli, president of the Chamber of Crafts of Casablanca-Settat, recalled the historical and strategic importance of this partnership, which reflects a dialogue between two millennia-old civilizations. She called for opportunities to be seized to consolidate this relationship, underlining Morocco’s central role as an essential partner in the Euro-African dynamic.
Henri Louis Vedie, Professor at HEC Paris and expert at the Policy Center for the New South, presented the Morocco-France partnership as a European model of cooperation, highlighting the convergences between the continents.
Mario Ralon, Sales Director of KapschTrafficCom, highlighted the favourable investment climate in Morocco and illustrated his company’s successful experience in the development of mobility infrastructures. He confirmed his company’s interest in supporting the kingdom in its future projects, especially those related to major international sports events.
