Morocco and Chad are strengthening their diplomatic and economic relations. In a recent phone call, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, congratulated his Chadian counterpart, Minister Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, on his appointment and reiterated Morocco’s commitment to elevating bilateral ties.
This exchange builds upon the strategic vision shared by King Mohammed VI and President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. Notably, Chad recently joined the Moroccan-led Atlantic Initiative, a project aimed at facilitating access to the Atlantic Ocean for landlocked African countries. By joining this initiative, Chad demonstrates its commitment to regional cooperation and economic integration.
This strengthened partnership encompasses various sectors, including security, trade, agriculture, and infrastructure. The rapprochement between Rabat and N’Djamena reflects Morocco’s growing influence on the African scene and its commitment to promoting solidarity and shared development through collaborative initiatives.
This move underscores Chad’s desire to diversify its partnerships and play an active role in continental initiatives that foster economic growth and regional stability.
