The inaugural Green Impact Expo & Summit (GIES) 2025 in Casablanca proved a resounding success, attracting over 10,000 visitors in three days.
The event brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including experts, manufacturers, and decision-makers, to address the critical challenges of the energy transition in the transport sector.
Discussions at the summit focused on key aspects of the energy transition, including the decarbonization of transport, the electrification of infrastructure, and the impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on Moroccan companies.
The event highlighted the integration of renewable energies in various transportation modes, with presentations on the successful integration of renewable energy sources into tramway, high-speed bus, and rail transport projects by the German Cooperation GIZ and the Moroccan Ministries of Transport and Energy Transition.
The international dimension of the summit was reinforced by the participation of several key countries, including France (the country of honor), Germany, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, and Sweden.
Innovation took center stage at the Startup Arena by GIES & StartGate, where promising Moroccan companies, such as Weego, Pogo, and FindCharge, showcased their innovative solutions for more efficient and sustainable mobility.
The summit also fostered valuable international cooperation. Bilateral meetings were held between the CGEM Transport and Logistics Federation and several African delegations, notably from Mauritania and Cameroon, underscoring Morocco’s commitment to strengthening intercontinental cooperation in the transport sector.
Building on this successful first edition, the organizers are already looking forward to hosting the second Green Impact Expo & Summit in 2026.
