Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), a leader in African infrastructure solutions, has welcomed the Union of the Comoros as its 44th member state, reflecting the support of over three-quarters of African nations.
This new membership provides the Comoros with a platform to explore opportunities for enhancing the country’s critical infrastructure.
The Comoros’ decision to join underscores the trust placed in the corporation as a key driver of development across Africa.
As an island nation at the crossroads of Africa and the Indian Ocean, the Comoros faces unique climate-related risks. The AFC’s broad development mandate offers the country access to its network and expertise in project development and capital mobilisation.
“This is a historic moment for the Union of the Comoros as we officially join the AFC,” said Ibrahim Mohamed Abdourazak, Minister of Finance, Budget, and Banking of the Comoros.
“This membership opens new avenues for infrastructure development and economic growth. Given the corporation’s track record, we are confident this partnership will accelerate our nation’s transformation” he said.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Comoros as our 44th member,” said Samaila Zubairu, President and CEO of the AFC.
“This partnership reflects a shared ambition to explore sustainable development solutions. We look forward to working with the Comorian government to identify opportunities aligned with their national priorities.”
