Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi Wednesday unveiled a 26-man squad for the national football team’s upcoming double-header against Niger – scheduled for November 13 and 17, 2026.
This is part of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The squad list notably excludes Soufiane Rahimi, Ayoub El Kaabi, Azzedine Ounahi, Ismael Saibari, and Chadi Riad, all of whom are sidelined due to injuries sustained with their respective clubs.
In light of these absences, Ouahbi has called up several new players. The squad also sees the return of a few familiar faces to the “Atlas Lions” fold after long spells away, including Youssef En-Nesyri, Souffian El Karouani, and Reda Belahyane.
Morocco’s first match will take place on Friday, November 13, at 8:00 PM GMT at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca. The second match is set for Tuesday, November 17, at the same time, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Morocco currently leads Group A of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, having managed 2-nil wins in their first two matches – against Gabon and Lesotho.
