The Senegalese capital and the city of Marseille are breathing new life into a partnership that dates back nearly 50 years.
It was on the sidelines of the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
On Monday, the two cities formalised a new agreement focused on public health and the preservation of their waterfronts.
Hailing “a new milestone that reflects a shared commitment to our relationship,” Dakar Mayor Abass Fall explained that this initiative centres on two major priorities: hospital cooperation and integrated coastal management.
The meeting concluded with the formal signing of the agreement and a symbolic exchange of gifts, reaffirming the strength of a decentralised partnership that has spanned decades without losing any of its lustre.
