El Hassan Daki, Attorney General of the King at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution Service in Morocco, received Mahamadou Mansour Mbaye, First President of the Supreme Court of Senegal, on Monday, February 17, 2025, in Rabat.
During the meeting, Daki highlighted the independence of the Moroccan judiciary from the executive branch as a cornerstone of the rule of law in the Kingdom. He also outlined the key roles and responsibilities of the public prosecutor’s office in protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
The two delegations discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral judicial cooperation, particularly at the level of the public prosecutor’s office. This includes exploring opportunities for the exchange of expertise and best practices between the two countries.
The Senegalese delegation included Jean-Louis Paul Toubane, Attorney General at the Supreme Court, Omar Kaye, President of the Chamber, Jean Aloise Ndiaye, Director of the Office of the President of the Supreme Court, and Hadji Biram Faye, in charge of international relations at the Senegalese Supreme Court.
This meeting underscores the commitment of both countries to strengthening judicial cooperation and promoting the rule of law within the region.
