Morocco’s e-visa program, launched in 2022, has proven to be a resounding success, significantly facilitating travel to the country and boosting tourism arrivals.
By the end of 2024, a remarkable 385,738 e-visas were issued, with 95% of these issued for tourism purposes.
The e-visa system, which streamlines administrative procedures for foreign visitors, has not only simplified travel to Morocco but also demonstrated the country’s commitment to embracing digital solutions and attracting a global audience.
In 2024, the program witnessed a 6% increase in e-visa issuance compared to the previous year, reflecting a growing interest in Morocco as a tourist destination. Notably, November 2024 saw a peak in demand, with 16,900 e-visas issued.
The e-visa program has successfully attracted a diverse range of nationalities, with 111 countries benefiting from this simplified travel process. India emerged as a key market, with 36,690 e-visas issued, representing a 52% increase compared to 2023. Other significant markets include Pakistan (+100%), Nigeria (+36%), and Egypt (+45%).
By facilitating access for travelers from diverse backgrounds, Morocco has effectively tapped into new markets and expanded its tourism reach. The e-visa system caters to the needs of both leisure and business travelers, offering convenience and flexibility for those planning trips to the Kingdom.
