President Filipe Nyusi has dismissed Mozambique’s finance minister and five other ministers, his office announced in a short statement late Wednesday.
According to the statement, the ministers who had been relieved of their duties included Finance and Economy Minister Adriano Maleiane and Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Ernesto Tonela.
Others dropped from cabinet were ministers responsible for fisheries, public works, housing, and water resources.
The statement did not give the reason why the ministers were dropped from the cabinet nor did it announce their replacements.
This is the second cabinet reshuffle since last November when Nyusi replaced the defence and interior ministers.
