A government headed by Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister Patrick Achi was formed on Wednesday 20 April 2022.
The Ivorian Head of State, Alassane Ouattara, during Thursday’s cabinet meeting outlined the roadmap of the new 32-member government, appointed in a context of economic situation.
“I ask you, ladies and gentlemen, to get to work now to accelerate the implementation of our government program,” Ouattara said, adding: “I expect you to be much more proactive and swifter.”
He stressed that the primary objective of this program is “to improve the living conditions of our citizens (and) we must continue the reforms to make our economy more dynamic, competitive and create jobs, especially for young people.”
“We must also diligently implement our three priorities for the year 2022,” he continued, urging the entire government team to “act in strict compliance with good governance and transparency in the management of public affairs and to vigorously monitor the management of public institutions that are under your authority.”
He advised the new executive to show humility in the exercise of its functions and consideration for fellow citizens. He reiterated his congratulations and wishes of success to the Prime Minister, Patrick Achi, and the Vice President, Tiemoko Meyliet Kone.
“I ask that the choice of Cabinet directors be submitted to our validation beforehand,” the Ivorian leader recommended.
Emmanuel Ahoutou Koffi, former chief of staff of the Prime Minister, has been appointed Vice-President Kone’s chief of staff.
