Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday for the Saudi-Africa Summit holding on Friday.
The Nigerian leader, who was received by ministers, members of the National Assembly as well as other government functionaries at the airport, is billed to underscore Nigeria’s commitment to attracting more Foreign Direct Investments and expanding business partnerships at the Saudi-Africa Summit.
According to the Presidential spokesman, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, the visit will strongly reinforce the new administration’s ongoing domestic economic reforms.
He added that discussions at the first Saudi-Africa Summit will revolve around supporting joint action, enhancing political coordination and addressing regional security threats.
The spokesman also said that the Summit would also facilitate economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions, which was expected to boost cross-sectoral investment cooperation.
President Tinubu is accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun.
Others delegates include the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu; the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Arabi.
The Nigerian leader is expected back in Abuja after the conclusion of the Saudi-Africa Summit.
