Commission of Inquiry into State Capture chairperson and Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo will on Tuesday submit to President Cyril Ramaphosa the first of a three-part report on the findings of his panel on high-level corruption during the tenure of fore president Jacob Zuma.
“The handover of the first part of the report will take place at the Union Buildings in Pretoria at 15h30 (1330 GMT) tomorrow on 4 January,” the presidency said on Monday.
The second part was expected to be handed over at the end of this month, and the final part would be ready next month.
The presidency’s digital platforms would live stream the handover ceremony, the statement added.
According to a court order on 28 December 2021, the president has until 30 June this year to submit the report to Parliament together with an indication of his intentions regarding implementation of the commission’s recommendations, the presidency said.
“As the President indicated to the court, only once the final instalment has been received, will it be possible to have complete sight of the report’s implications, and to develop an implementation plan on the recommendations,” it said.
However, cabinet announced last Friday that Ramaphosa has decided that each part of the report would be released to the public immediately after it is submitted to him by the commission.
