The “Emergency Medicine Course – Advanced Level, a medical training programme focused on managing on-field emergencies, took place in Rabat from March 10 to 13, 2025.
This initiative is part of a strategic partnership between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS), in collaboration with the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), organisers said in a statement.
Marking the first time a FIFA event of this scale has been held in Morocco and Africa, the training underscores the pivotal roles of the FM6SS and FRMF in enhancing the skills of healthcare professionals and highlights Morocco’s commitment to advancing medical excellence across the continent.
The event reflects the shared dedication of both institutions to improving medical care and fostering excellence in sports-related healthcare.
The training holds particular significance as Morocco prepares to host major sporting events between 2025 and 2030.
This advanced programme equips healthcare professionals, emergency teams, FM6SS doctors, members of the Moroccan Society of Emergency Medicine (SMMU), practitioners within Morocco’s football ecosystem,
and physicians from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) with the skills needed to handle on-field emergencies and provide optimal care for athletes.
The participants engaged in an intensive curriculum focused on critical medical scenarios, featuring practical simulations and the use of specialized equipment.
Through its Health and Sports Division, the FM6SS continues its mission to train tomorrow’s healthcare professionals, equipping them with cutting edge tools and knowledge to enhance athlete safety.
The initiative aligns with the strategic partnership between the FRMF and FM6SS, set against the backdrop of Morocco’s upcoming role as host of significant sporting events between 2025 and 2030.
