The Moroccan aviation outfit has been elected best airline in Africa by the 18th edition of the “GT Tested Reader Survey” of the Global Traveler magazine, the company said in a statement.
The prize was awarded to the national airline on Tuesday 14 December in Los Angeles, during the annual awards ceremony organized by Global Traveler, the statement said.
Royal Air Maroc was also ranked fourth best airline in the MENA region, Middle East and North Africa, behind Etihad Airways, Emirates and Qatar Airways.
The GT Tested Reader Survey is a benchmark survey for the airline industry and premium tourism.
It is organized by Global Traveler, an international monthly magazine distributed primarily to frequent business and leisure travelers.
“We are pleased and honoured to receive this prestigious award and to be recognized as the best airline in Africa. This recognition comes from the direct testimony of our customers around the world. It crowns the daily efforts deployed by our 4,000 employees to offer the highest standards of excellence in service, safety and comfort, at all levels of the customer experience. This Global Traveler Award motivates us to continue to move forward and improve, despite the difficult times that our sector is going through,” said Hamid Addou, President and CEO of RAM, quoted in the release.
This distinction confirms a series of awards recently obtained by Royal Air Maroc.
In 2019, the National Company was elected by Skytrax, for the 6th consecutive year, best regional airline in Africa.
It has also maintained its 4-star Skytrax label.
Highly coveted by airlines, the award is a global reference point in the air transport sector.
