The Russian deputy prime minister began a tour of Sahel nations last Thursday.
After Bamako, Alexander Novak arrived in the Burkinabe capital on Thursday evening, according to the Burkinabe Foreign Ministry.
On a “friendly and working visit,” according to Burkinabe diplomacy, the prime minister is leading a large delegation made up of members of the government, parliament and the private sector of the Russian Federation.
Their agenda includes meetings with members of the Burkinabe government, including the prime minister.
“At this working session, the two delegations will discuss various technical aspects of their cooperation,” the foreign ministry added.
Deputy PM Novak and his delegation have begun a tour of the three countries of the Sahel Alliance.
After Mali and Burkina Faso, the Russian delegation visited Niger.
