Intelcia Senegal’s objective is clear: to make a significant contribution to the employability of the Senegalese population. The company currently has 1,600 employees in three locations and aims to reach 1,800 by the end of 2024.
Speaking at a media breakfast in Dakar on Friday, Gabriel Clavier Ndione, the company’s new site director in the Teranga region, stressed the importance of creating stable, sustainable jobs in a fast-growing sector.
“Intelcia Senegal is committed to its policy of promoting local skills. With 99% of its managers coming from customer service positions, the company is demonstrating its commitment to internal promotion and the development of local skills,” said Mr. Ndione.
The new manager has accepted the challenge of proving that local skills are not only real, but capable of delivering quality service. As a leader, he is determined to demonstrate that the Group’s policy of promoting in-house skills is bearing fruit.
According to him, 70% of the company’s employees benefit from open-ended contracts, which provide professional stability.
He also emphasised risk management in a fast-growing sector, noting that banks, which were initially reluctant, are now recognising the sector’s stability.
The rapid evolution of the telecommunications sector requires preparation for future challenges. Intelcia Senegal, part of a group present in 17 countries with 40,000 employees, is positioned as a pioneer in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI).
However, Gabriel Clavier Ndione acknowledges that “human beings remain irreplaceable,” and his company is preparing for future AI-related challenges.
Inclusion is at the heart of Intelcia Senegal’s approach. The company works with associations, promotes reduced mobility on its premises, and actively participates in CSR initiatives, including a collaboration with the Basketball Federation for the Disabled.
