South Africa held to 1-1 draw by Nigeria in 2026 World Cup qualifier

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday held the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to a 1-1 draw in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifier.
The match played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo in Southern Nigeria saw the South Africans take the lead in in the 31st minute through Themba Zwane.
The goal jolted the Super Eagles and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored the equaliser for Nigeria in the 46th minute to bring the score line to 1-1.
The efforts by the Super Eagles to score the winner were frustrated by the South Africans.
With the outcome of the third round of the qualifier, the Super Eagles have 3 points from 3 matches and placed 5th in Group C.
