APA-Khartoum (Sudan) Fighting has been raging in Sudan’s capital Khartoum on Tuesday despite talks for a truce continung in Saudi Arabia, APA can report.
Khartoum residents have been cowering in their homes as heavy barrages of gunfire accompanied by fierce aerial bombardments sounded across the city.
Sudanese army regulars have been engaging fighters of the Rapid Support Forces in districts of Khartoum while there are also reports of fierce fighting in nearby Omdurman.
The military has used its aerial power to strike at RSF targets located near civilian quarters.
Violent unrest has also been reported in Darfur where the death toll is being put at close to 400.
International relief agencies have warned of a ‘catastrophic’ humanitarian situation unfolding across Sudan.
It is not clear what has become of talks for a truce in Saudi Arabia.
It follows several short-lived ceasefires which have failed to bring an end to more than a month of fighting between government troops loyal to junt leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy Mohamad Hamdan Dagalo or Hamedti.
