The Sudanese military Friday claimed its soldiers have recaptured the presidential palace in the capital Khartoum.
It has been the scene of fierce fighting in recent weeks as the military intensified its offensive Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebels who have been occupying when the unrest began in 2023.
However as the Sudanese army claimed victory, RSF announced it was launching a fresh attack to reclaim the palace.
The paramilitary forces have occupied large parts of the country including western Sudan.
