Repeated attacks, including a deadly incident on July 29th that killed three medical staff, have left the hospital struggling to provide care for the growing number of wounded.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has warned that the hospital is on the brink of collapse due to a combination of attacks and a blockade on medical supplies. Essential equipment and medicines have been stranded in Kabkabiya for over a month due to restrictions imposed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The situation is critical. With over 2,170 wounded people treated since the conflict intensified and a lack of basic supplies, the hospital is overwhelmed. The RSF’s blockade of aid is exacerbating the crisis, putting countless lives at risk.
MSF is urging all parties to the conflict to immediately cease attacks on medical facilities and allow unhindered access for humanitarian aid. The people of El Fasher are in desperate need of medical care, and the continued targeting of hospitals is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
