Insurance companies in Tunisia recorded a turnover of 3.8 billion Tunisian dinars in 2024, marking a 10.8% increase compared to 2023, according to the General Insurance Committee (CGA).
The sector’s sustained growth is driven by the diversification of insurance products and a rising demand for life and health coverage.
Life insurance and capitalisation accounted for 30% of the industry’s total revenue, generating 1.1 billion dinars (€3.6 billion), a 20% increase from 955 million dinars in 2023.
Meanwhile, non-life insurance generated 2.6 billion dinars (70% of total revenue), with growth led by automobile insurance: 1.5 billion dinars (39% of total revenue). Group health insurance: 586 million dinars (15%) and fire insurance: 218 million dinars (5.7%).
The fire and health insurance segments saw respective increases of 15.1% and 10.6% over the year.
Insurance payouts also increased by 10.4%, reaching 2 billion dinars (€6.55 billion) in 2024, compared to 1.8 billion dinars in 2023.
