United Kingdom-based Gem Diamonds has recovered a large high quality white diamond from its Lesotho mine, the company announced in a statement on Wednesday.
“Gem Diamonds Limited (LSE: GEMD) is pleased to announce the recovery of a high quality 370 carat Type II, white diamond, from the Letšeng mine in Lesotho, the highest dollar per carat kimberlite diamond mine in the world.
This is the second time in as many weeks that the company has announced the recovery of a large diamond at the same mine.
It last week announced the recovery of a high quality 254 carat Type II white diamond from Letšeng.
Gem Diamonds owns the Letšeng Diamond mine in Lesotho and the Ghaghoo mine in Botswana, with head offices in the UK and sales, marketing and manufacturing capabilities in Belgium.
The Letšeng mine is renowned for its production of large, top colour, exceptional white diamonds.
