The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré,has presented the insignia of Brigadier General to Colonel Moussa Diallo, the new Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces.
According to the Office of the President of Burkina Faso, the new head of the Burkinabe army received his epaulettes and beret of Brigadier General, on Friday, December 20, 2024,
“Brigadier General Moussa Diallo, I bestow upon you the insignia of your rank,” said Captain Ibrahim Traoré during a solemn ceremony.
The new general officer expressed his gratitude to Captain Traoré for the trust shown and stated that he received his insignia with “immense honour and deep gratitude.”
“Beyond being an important milestone in a military career, this is also an expression of trust,” said Brigadier General Diallo.
He reaffirmed his readiness and commitment to address challenges and meet the expectations of the highest authorities.
The new Chief of General Staff also pledged “to uphold the rank of Brigadier General by leading with wisdom and fairness, commitment and determination, courage and loyalty.”
It wiil be recalled that on December 17, 2024, the President of Burkina Faso issued a decree elevating Colonel Moussa Diallo to the rank of Brigadier General.
He was subsequently appointed on Thursday, December 19, as Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces by presidential decree.
