President Julius Maada Bio presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Dr. Abdul Rahim Jalloh as the new Minister of Energy 2, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to sustainable energy and expanded electricity access nationwide.
Secretary to the Cabinet, John Sumaila, confirmed Parliament’s unanimous approval of Dr. Jalloh’s appointment, following the President’s recommendation, and presented the appointee for the oath of office.
Dr. Jalloh expressed gratitude for the appointment and acknowledged the significant responsibility of the role. He pledged to ensure accessible and effective energy delivery for all Sierra Leoneans.
President Bio congratulated Dr. Jalloh and assured him of his full support, acknowledging the energy sector’s complexities. He encouraged Dr. Jalloh to utilize available expertise to excel in his new position.
Dr. Jalloh brings over 40 years of national and international experience in engineering and energy systems to the role, expected to significantly contribute to advancing Sierra Leone’s energy sector.
