Senegal’s Directorate General of Customs (DGD) has reaffirmed its commitment to streamlining logistics and border operations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), following a bilateral strategic meeting between Customs Director General Malick Mbaye and Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye, President of the Senegalese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSS), in Dakar.
The discussions centered on final operational readiness and technical clearing protocols designed to accelerate the transport, import, and customs processing of critical athletic hardware and broadcast infrastructure required for competition venues.
The administrative coordination operates under a comprehensive memorandum of understanding signed in 2025 between the DGD and the Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (YOGOC), which established expedited, specialized clearing procedures across Senegal’s primary maritime and aerial entry points. According to organizing officials, these tailored regulatory measures have successfully prevented logistics bottlenecks, ensuring that equipment delivery and venue commissioning targets remain on schedule. To complement freight logistics, the DGD and YOGOC have also deployed an online digital guide outlining customs protocols to facilitate seamless transit for international athletic delegations, media contingents, and institutional partners throughout the duration of the Games.
