President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has arrived in Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. During the forum, which runs from January 20th to 24th, 2025 under the theme “Collaborating in the Age of Intelligence,” President Tshisekedi will present a major environmental protection project for the DRC.
Accompanying the President is a high-level delegation including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Therese Kayikwamba Wagner, Minister of State for the Environment Eve Bazaiba, Minister of Finance Doudou Fwamba, and Minister of Mines Kizito Pakabomba.
The WEF 2025 will focus on critical global challenges, including the rise of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and the urgent need for a global energy transition.
President Tshisekedi will use this platform to showcase the DRC’s commitment to environmental conservation by unveiling a comprehensive project aimed at combating climate change and preserving the country’s rich biodiversity.
The DRC boasts vast rainforests, playing a vital role in global carbon sequestration and supporting a diverse array of flora and fauna. The President’s presentation will highlight the importance of environmental protection for the DRC and its contribution to global efforts to address climate change.
