APA – Côte d’Ivoire) This match was due in San-Pedro, in the south-west of Côte d’Ivoire, one week before the African Cup of Nations AfCON 2023, scheduled for January 13 to February 11, 2024.
On December 8, 2023, the Mozambican Football Federation informed the Federation Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) of “the cancellation of the match initially scheduled for Saturday January 6, 2024 in San-Pedro,” according to a memo from the FIF.
“Mozambique is finally considering another preparation plan other than Côte d’Ivoire,” explains the FIF, which says it takes note of this decision while reassuring the Ivorian sporting public that arrangements are being made for the organization of another opposition at the period indicated.
Côte d’Ivoire, the host country of the AfCON 2023, is aiming to add the 34th Africa Cup of Nations to its list of honours thanks to smart preparation. This continental competition is being held on Ivorian soil, 40 years after that of 1984.
