Mr. Mamadou Berte, formerly the deputy general director of the Cotton-Cashew Council, has been unanimously selected by the Board of Directors to take on the role of interim CEO following the dismissal of Dr. Adama Coulibaly, the former general director, on Wednesday.
The decision to replace Dr. Coulibaly came after audits and assessments uncovered various operational and governance issues within the Cotton-Cashew Council. As a result, the Head of State deemed it necessary to remove Dr. Coulibaly from his position.
Amadou Coulibaly, the government spokesperson, announced after a Council of Ministers meeting presided over by the Head of State that the Board of Directors was tasked with appointing an interim CEO for the council.
Furthermore, the Head of State emphasized the accountability of each minister in overseeing the management of the companies under their jurisdiction. Prior to this, President Alassane Ouattara had directed the vice-president to scrutinize the management practices of public enterprises closely.
