The Ethiopian Airlines has been celebrating the International Women’s Day (March 8) by operating six flights which are entirely staffed by women, the national carrier announced Saturday in a statement.
The airline said it honours the day with special all-women flights to Athens, São Paulo, New Delhi, Windhoek, Dubai, and Bahir Dar,
The flights feature female pilots, cabin crew, and air traffic controllers, marking a significant step toward promoting gender equality in aviation.
“This initiative is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ celebration of both the 114th International Women’s Day and the 49th National Women’s Day,” it said.
By exclusively featuring female personnel, the airline aims to highlight the growing role of women in the aviation industry and inspire future generations, it said.
“This all-women-functioned flight initiative not only empowers women but also sends a powerful message about gender equality,” it said.
As part of its annual International Women’s Day celebrations, Ethiopian Airlines has been operating all-women-functioned flights to different parts of the world since 2015.
This s meant to showcase the professionalism and capability of women in the aviation sector.
