Rwanda’s cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame has reduced the curfew hours in Kigali by one hour, APA learnt on Thursday.
The curfew now starts from 10PM (8PM GMT) and ends at 4AM compared to 9PM – 4AM initially.
According to the final resolution from the Cabinet meeting, some remote rural districts in North and Southern Provinces having experienced a big number of COVID-19 cases will keep experiencing longer curfew hours from 7PM to 4AM local time.
Transport across the country will continue and the good in this sector could be the increase in the number of people aboard buses.
The number has been increased to 75 percent of bus capacity from 50 percent.
According to the cabinet, gyms will open gradually, following separate assessment and authorisation by the Ministry of Sports.
Churches also saw the number of worshippers allowed at the place of worship increased to 50 percent from the current 30 percent.
A similar increase was also allowed for restaurants, but bars will still remain closed.
As of Thursday, Rwanda recorded 70 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of patients in the country to 25,421.
The total numbers of recoveries from the virus reached 23,710.
This was after 187 new recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The current death toll stands at 338.
