Coach Hughley, a two-time Afrobasket champion with Nigeria, has selected a preliminary squad of 26 players for the first phase of training camp starting July 26th at a Dakar day school. This intensive camp aims to whittle the roster down to 18 elite players by August 1st for a closed training camp.

The final 18-player roster will be announced following the closed training camp on August 1st. The Senegalese Lionesses will then travel to Rwanda to compete for a spot in the World Basketball Championship qualifying tournament.
