Zambia and Qatar have signed an agreement that will see Qatar Airways increasing the frequency of direct flights between Doha and Lusaka.
The agreement, which was signed in Doha by Zambia’s Transport Minister Frank Museba Tayali and Qatari Transport Minister Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti on Tuesday, would see the two countries strengthening cooperation “in the field of open air transport”.
In a statement, Qatar said the agreement “comes within the framework of linking Qatar with air services agreements that open the way for the national carrier to expand its network of destinations to reach more global destinations.”
Qatar Airways already has direct flights to the Zambian capital Lusaka and the agreement would see the Middle East airline increasing the frequency of its flights.
The two ministers also reviewed bilateral relations between their countries in the fields of transport services and civil aviation.
