The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday defeated the Cheetahs of Benin Republic 3-0 in the second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Championship.
The match, played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, saw the Super Eagles take the lead through Ademola Lookman in the extra time of the first half of the match.
The first half, which was dominated by the Super Eagles ended 1-0 in favour of home team.
The second goal of the match was scored by substitute Victor Osimhen in the 78th minute, while Lookman sealed the victory for the Super Eagles with his brace late in the second half to bring the score line to 3-0.
The first leg of the qualifier played in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire between the two countries ended 2-1 in favour of the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.
