APA-Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) The telephone operator Moov Africa is not affected by the internet disruptions.
MTN has reported difficulties with Internet supply since Wednesday 13 March 2024, at 8pm (GMT, local time).
An agent, who asked not to be identified explained that this incident was caused by “a cable cut caused by a road construction company on Boulevard VGE in the direction of Port-Bouet,” a seaside town south of Abidjan.
“We have up to two cables cut at the moment,” the agent added, noting that MTN, which has been experiencing Internet access problems since Wednesday, had sought to connect to Orange.
However, Orange has also been affected by a cable cut since 7.30am (GMT, local time).
An Orange Côte d’Ivoire agent, confirmed to APA on Thursday that the outage was “a general problem blamed on submarine cable cuts.”
