At least three people were killed and four others injured in series of drone strikes in Hintalo district of southeastern Tigray of northern Ethiopia, APA reported on Thursday.
The victims, including a toddler, belonged to the same family, and the residential home targeted in the attack sustained severe damage.
According to the districts district administrator Goytom Tesfay accused the Ethiopian government forces of deliberately targeting civilians.
The latest strike comes amid renewed tension between the federal government and Tigray forces following the August clashes in disputed areas involving Tigrayan forces and federal government forces.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s administration claimed that that attacks military facilities in the region but regional reports have confirmed civilian infrastructure, including schools and health centers were attacked during operations.

A military confrontation between Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), which administers the Tigray region and federal government, has escalated with the two sides accusing each other of attacking each other.
TPLF recently announced that it does not accept a mediation being facilitated by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing him of not “impartial.”
It said Obasanjo’s visits to Tigray lacked prior consultation, concrete proposals and transparent agendas, adding that his latest visit similarly failed to offer substantive ideas or establish a pathway toward meaningful talks.
