The Ecuadorian Economic Promotion Week began in the Moroccan capital Rabat on Monday with the goal of promoting the potential of the Latin American country in the kingdom.
This promotion is to be felt across various sectors, according to the Moroccan Agency for
International Cooperation (AMCI).
The launch took place during a meeting chaired by AMCI’s ambassador and Director General, Mohamed Methqal, according to an AMCI press release issued on Tuesday.
Several events and meetings are planned during the week in Rabat, Casablanca, and Dakhla.
The week aims to foster the development of mutually beneficial business partnerships between
Moroccan and Ecuadorian operators, the statement added, noting that the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss strengthening the economic partnership between Morocco and Ecuador to align with the ambitions championed by King Mohammed VI.
The delegation from Ecuador, comprised several officials who are led by Sanchez Icaza Cesar Janvier, Undersecretary for Negotiations at the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, and Investment.
The presence of a high-level delegation from Ecuador demonstrates the country’s commitment to strengthening its relations with Morocco and should contribute to developing trade and attracting
more investment, notes AMCI.
The program for this week of economic promotion of Ecuador in Morocco includes meetings in three cities with public institutions and private economic operators, the CGEM (General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises) and sectoral federations, the Professional Group of Banks of Morocco (GPBM), Casablanca Finance City and its business ecosystem, and the Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Dakhla.
These talks will provide an opportunity to showcase the economic potential of Ecuador and its main investment sectors, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and mining.
This initiative is part of the actions that the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs is implementing to support the economic diplomacy of Morocco internationally, through the Moroccan Agency
for International Cooperation and its partners such as the CGEM, the Professional Group of Banks of Morocco, Casablanca Finance City (CFC) and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), the statement indicates.
